From a very young age, I developed a deep and abiding love of the natural world and this has subsequently dictated the course of my life. Initially, I had a scientific career studying birds and landscape at The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and later at Aberdeen University. Then in 2019, illness forced me into early retirement and I have been painting full time ever since.
In 2020 I was fortunate to be a part of the Bridge House Art Portfolio Course in Ullapool. I have had 4 solo exhibitions at Tolquhon Gallery (2019), Heinzel Gallery (2021), Clashnettie Arts Centre (2023) and Resipole Studios (2024).
The more I have painted the more fascinated I have become about the power of landscapes and the relationships between these multi-layered places and my emotional state. My paintings invite the viewer to reflect and explore their own experiences and emotional connection to these precious places.
